In a two run game the Streator Reds put 5 runs on the scoreboard in the 4th
inning and got by the Oakland Athletics by the score of 7 to 5.
Streator had 5 runs cross the plate in the 4th inning when they came up with 4
base hits. The highlight belonged to Isaac Paredes who brought the crowd to
their feet when he stroked a single which was good for two runs. Oakland had
a chance in the 9th but they came up short.
The winning pitcher was Hayden Wesneski(3-1) who allowed 3 runs in 5 and 2/3
innings. Wesneski was helped out by Bryan Abreu who recorded his 8th save.
Dylan Cease(1-5) took the loss. He got hammered, allowing 8 hits and 2 walks
in 3 and 2/3 innings.
'We just made a lot of mistakes, mostly mental,' Joe Ingraffia said. 'It's
bad enough when the other team beats you, but when you start beating
yourselves, that's really bad.'
