In a close game the Tombstone Huckleberries got by the Woodfield Roadkyll by
the score of 5 to 3.
Tombstone had the winning rally in the bottom of the 8th inning plating 2 runs
on 3 hits. Paul Goldschmidt led off and started the attack as he hit a
single. Yordan Alvarez followed next and he drew a walk. Siri proceeded to
steal third base. Zack Gelof was the next batter, but he struck out. Mickey
Moniak came to the plate and banged out a single scoring a one-base hit run.
Moniak took second on the throw. Mitch Garver continued the rally and was
walked intentionally. Willi Castro was next and he drew a walk to load the
bases. Matt McLain then lashed a single scoring the final run of the inning.
Tombstone finished with 7 hits while Woodfield ended up with 3.
The win went to Kirby Yates(3-1) who allowed no runs in 2 innings. David
Bednar recorded the save, his 25th. Dauri Moreta(4-2) suffered the loss in
relief.
