Cole Ragans whiffed 10 batters and center fielder Jose Siri blasted 2 homeruns
and had 4 RBI as the Tombstone Huckleberries beat the Jamaica Smoke by a
score of 15 to 7.
Siri made sure the Tombstone fans enjoyed themselves. He smashed a two-run
homer in the 4th inning and lifted one out of the park for a two run home run
in the 8th inning. Tombstone provided plenty of action in the 6th inning
with 4 runs on 3 hits and the 8th inning when they had 5 runs on 5 hits. Due
to a poorly pitched ballgame, scoring in 5 different innings was still not
enough for Jamaica to come away with the victory.
Ragans(3-0) got the win allowing 4 runs in 6 innings. Hunter Brown(3-11) ended
up with the loss. He was knocked around by Tombstone, allowing 9 hits and 4
walks in 5 innings.
Everyone seemed to enjoy the performance of Ragans - except Jamaica. Greg
Edens lamented, 'He just was 'on' tonight. He was keeping our guys off
balance all game. A fine game by a good strikeout pitcher - makes it a fun
game for the hometown fans - unfortunately we were the visitors!'
