Ryan Mountcastle connected with a 'big fly' and had 4 RBI as the Tombstone
Huckleberries topped the Columbus Crowd by a score of 11 to 6 at The
Horseshoe.
Mountcastle had a good evening at the plate. He clubbed a three-run home run
in the 1st inning, delivered a one-base hit which brought home a run in the
2nd inning and stroked a base-hit in the 6th inning. Tombstone had 12 hits
for the night while Columbus had 7.
Kirby Yates(1-1) picked up the victory, allowing no runs in 2 and 1/3 innings.
Yates got relief help from David Bednar who gained credit for his 23rd save.
Justin Steele(7-4) was the losing pitcher. He was touched for 7 hits and 3
walks in 2 and 2/3 innings.
With this win, Tombstone has a division leading 49-27 record. They have been
4-6 lately. Columbus will hope that this loss is only a 'blip' on their
recent 8-2 run - and not a start of a new trend.
