Yu Darvish struck out 10 batters and right fielder Manuel Margot had 3 base
hits as the Streator Reds staged a dramatic comeback over the Dyersville
Jurassics by a score of 7 to 6 at Streator Park.
Streator came up with the deciding runs in the bottom of the 9th inning with 2
runs using 2 hits. After two outs Margot kicked off the action when he
doubled. Ryan Pressly then was wild with a pitch. Javier Baez then cleared
the fences for a two-run home run giving Streator the victory as 47,509 happy
fans celebrated wildly. This was a game of many highs and lows for the home
town fans, as the lead kept changing - 5 times in all.
Matt Brash(4-2) went 1 inning allowing no runs for the victory. Pressly(8-3)
absorbed the loss in relief. He pitched 2/3 of an inning giving up 2 hits
and no walks.
Ralph Madara was all smiles after the ballgame, 'It sure was looking pretty
dim there for a while, but our guys never gave up - and neither did our fans
- they kept cheering us on. What a sweet win!'
