Shohei Ohtani slammed 2 homeruns and had 4 RBI at Kauffman Stadium as the
Aarlington Aardvarks pulled off a dramatic comeback beating the Palatine Cubs
by the count of 7 to 5.
Aarlington erupted with the game winning runs in the top of the 9th inning
plating 3 runs on 5 hits. Jake McCarthy got things going when he ripped a
single. Kevin Kiermaier came to the plate and lashed a single. Kiermaier
took second on the throw. Matt Thaiss was the next batter, but he struck
out. One out later, Jeff McNeil stepped up to the plate and he tripled
plating two runs. Nicky Lopez stepped into the box and stroked a single
scoring the final run of the inning. Aarlington out-hit Palatine for the
game, 12 hits to 9.
Steven Wilson(3-2) went 1 and 1/3 innings allowing 1 run for the win. Chris
Devenski(3-2) was given the loss in relief. He surrendered 3 hits and no
walks in 1 and 2/3 innings.
