Kutter Crawford mowed down 10 Palatine batters as the Tombstone Huckleberries
outscored the Palatine Cubs 5 to 3.
Crawford(6-1) earned his pay with a solid performance for Tombstone. He went
6 and 1/3 innings and surrended up 6 hits and 2 walks and served up 2 'big
flies'. David Bednar was perfect in relief and gained credit for his 21st
save.
Kodai Senga(6-5) absorbed the loss. He struck out 9 batters in 6 innings
despite losing the game. The Tombstone fans were thrilled by the performance
put forth by Crawford, but it was clearly his strikeouts that they enjoyed
most. 'When he reached 10 strikeouts the fans showed him their appreciation
with a loud cheer.' Doug Salzwedel said following the game.
