Chas McCormick smashed 2 homeruns and had 3 RBI at Kauffman Stadium as the
Palatine Cubs beat the Dallas Gibsons 8 to 6.
McCormick provided much of the offense. He doubled knocking in a run in the
3rd inning, smashed a bases-empty 'big-fly' in the 5th inning, doubled in the
6th inning and clubbed a solo home run in the 8th inning. Dallas was out-hit
by Palatine, 15 hits to 10.
Joel Payamps(1-1) got the win allowing 1 run in 2 innings. Daniel Coulombe
earned the save, his 3rd. The loss was charged to Brock Burke(0-2) in
relief. He pitched 3 innings allowing 3 hits and no walks.
'I felt great out there tonight' McCormick said. 'I was seeing the ball
perfectly, and I was right on it with my swing.
