The Chicago Whales enjoyed a blow-out, pounding the Gotham Gold Gloves
pitchers for 16 while Aaron Civale(3-1)with bullpen help allowed Gotham 7
runs.
Marcus Semien was really 'in the zone'. He laced a base-knock in the 1st
inning, doubled which scored a run in the 2nd inning and brought the hometown
folks to their feet with a Grand Slammer in the 3rd inning. Chicago provided
plenty of action in the 3rd inning when they had 4 runs on 3 hits and the 6th
inning which saw them plate 5 runs on 3 hits. Chicago dominated offensively
as they scored in 6 different innings.
Michael Lorenzen(3-2) absorbed the loss. He allowed a few too many
baserunners giving up 7 hits and 3 walks in 2 and 2/3 innings.
