Connor Joe blasted a grand slam as the Dublin Pubcrawlers topped the Streator
Reds by a score of 7 to 6 at Poets Field.
Dublin scored 4 runs in the bottom of the 2nd inning when they came up with 3
base hits. The biggest moment was provided by Joe who made the crowd happy
when he launched a rocket-shot out of the park for a Grand Slam homerun.
Streator had a chance to come back in the 9th but they came up short.
The victory went to Nestor Cortes(1-0) who went 6 and 1/3 innings, allowing 3
runs. Huascar Brazoban gained credit for his 2nd save. Yu Darvish(0-5) was
hit with the loss. He was knocked around pretty good, giving up 7 runs in 5
and 2/3 innings.
'I was a little good, a little bad and a little ugly.' said Cortes, 'I was
just giving us a chance to win.'
