Catcher Jose Trevino blasted 2 homeruns as the Tombstone Huckleberries
defeated the Gotham Gold Gloves by the score of 5 to 1 at The O.K.
Corral.
Tombstone came up with 2 runs in the bottom of the 2nd inning with the help of
3 hits. After an out was recorded, Trevino began the Tombstone spurt when he
delivered a solo blast. Whit Merrifield followed next and he ripped a
one-base hit. One out later, Zach Neto then reached on an error. Cedric
Mullins was up next and he delivered a base-hit scoring the final run of the
inning. The early run support proved sufficient for Chris Bassitt(2-1) and
Tombstone. That was all the run support Bassitt required. Tombstone totaled
9 hits on the night.
Yusei Kikuchi(4-3) took the loss. He served up 3 gopher balls in 6 and 2/3
innings. Tombstone now has a record of a division leading 29-13. With the
loss, the Gotham ballclub's record is 20-22.
