Marcell Ozuna cracked 2 homeruns and had 5 RBI as the Palatine Cubs ballclub
embarrassed the Oakland Athletics by the count of 13 to 2.
Ozuna enjoyed a big evening at the plate. He smashed a two-run homer in the
1st inning, clubbed a solo home run in the 4th inning, doubled which was good
for two runs in the 4th inning, ripped a base-hit in the 7th inning and
doubled in the 9th inning. Oakland was out-hit by Palatine, 15 hits to 7.
Pablo Lopez(4-2) got credit for the victory, pitching 5 and 2/3 innings and
allowing 2 runs. Martin Perez(1-3) was hit with the loss. He served up 3
homeruns in his 3 and 1/3 innings.
The winning ways continue for Palatine. They now have a record of 9-1 in
recent days. With this loss, Oakland has a 4-6 record of late, 18-24, worst
in the division overall.
