Vladimir Guerrero Jr slammed 2 homeruns and had 4 RBI as the Jamaica Smoke won
in dramatic fashion over the Dublin Pubcrawlers by a score of 8 to 7 at
Lawton Stadium.
Jamaica came up with the deciding runs in the 9th inning scoring 3 runs on 3
hits. Fernando Tatis Jr got things going when he slapped a single. Corey
Seager came next and he laced a single. Guerrero Jr then clubbed a three-run
home run giving Jamaica the win as 34,535 happy fans joyfully celebrated.
The score went back-and-forth with the lead changing 5 times.
Ryne Nelson(2-2) got the win allowing 3 runs in 2 and 2/3 innings. The losing
pitcher was Jose Leclerc(2-3) in relief. 'Wow, that was fun!', Nelson said
following the game. 'Once in a while you play a game that reminds you just
why you got into this business to begin with!'
