The Oakland Athletics readily handled Dallas Gibsons by a score of 9 to 5 at
Truist Park.
Kerry Carpenter was a seemingly constant irritant to the hometown fans as he
provided much of the offense for the visitors. He cleared the bases with a
Grand Slam homerun in the 1st inning and doubled resulting in a run in the
5th inning. Oakland rapped out 8 hits for the night.
Yimi Garcia(2-2) allowed no runs in 3 innings, and picked up the victory.
Graham Ashcraft(0-4) absorbed the loss. Oakland scored big getting 8 runs
off him in 7 and 1/3 innings.
