In a game for the baseball purist, Clayton Kershaw(2-1) and Charlie
Morton(1-1) squared off in a tense pitching duel, Columbus Crowd finally
emerged victorious over Dyersville Jurassics, 2 to 1.
Columbus went ahead for good in the top of the 4th inning scoring one runner.
Corbin Carroll drew a walk. Ezequiel Tovar followed next and he banged out a
single. Jordan Westburg then grounded into a double play scoring the run.
Dyersville threatened in the 9th but their rally came up short.
Devin Williams got the save, his 4th. Jim Aldrich was subdued when questioned
after the game, 'Sure, this kind of loss takes a while to get over, but heck,
we're all professionals. We've been through this many times - it's the
nature of the game. We'll be fine - as for me - I'll be ready to go again
tomorrow!'
