Third baseman Oswaldo Cabrera smacked 2 homeruns and had 5 RBI at Truist Park
as the Oakland Athletics belted the Dallas Gibsons by the count of 18 to
7.
Cabrera was really in 'the zone'. He smashed a bases-empty 'big-fly' in the
3rd inning, lined a one-base hit in the 6th inning, ripped a base-hit plating
two runs in the 7th inning and smashed a two-run homer in the 8th inning.
Oakland lit up the scoreboard in the 3rd inning with 4 runs on 4 hits, the
5th inning scoring 4 runs and the 7th inning which saw them plate 6 runs on 5
hits. Oakland had 20 hits for the game and Dallas had 12.
The victory was credited to Yimi Garcia(1-2) who went 3 innings, allowing no
runs. Andrew Heaney(1-3) was charged with the loss. He was touched for 3
homeruns in his 4 innings of work.
Cabrera said, 'It was just all timing. I had pretty good rhythm at the plate
tonight. You've got to take advantage of mistakes when you can. A couple
pitches were definitely up a little bit - right in my zone.'
