Nico Hoerner had 3 base hits and scored 3 times as the Caracas Leones
outscored the Hollywood Marines 5 to 4.
The deciding run was scored by Caracas in the 8th. Hoerner drew a walk.
Anthony Rendon followed next and he laced a base-hit. Rendon took second on
the throw. Aaron Judge then hit a deep fly scoring the run. Hollywood made
it exciting in the 9th, but they were unable to push the needed runs across.
The victory went to Jake Junis(1-0) who went 1 and 2/3 innings, allowing no
runs. Junis got help from Yennier Cano who was credited with his 1st save.
Brooks Raley(0-1) absorbed the loss in relief.
'Anytime you lose it hurts,' said Brian Anderson 'but it's losing the close
ones that really hurt.'
