Blake Snell retired 10 batters on strikeouts and center fielder Jose Siri
ripped 2 homeruns and had 3 RBI at Kauffman Stadium as the Tombstone
Huckleberries beat the Palatine Cubs by the count of 5 to 4.
Siri led the offense for Tombstone. He smashed a solo-shot out of the park in
the 2nd inning, lined a base-hit in the 4th inning and cleared the fences for
a two-run home run in the 5th inning. The Palatine batters didn't put up a
fight in the bottom of the 9th.
The victory was credited to Snell(2-1) who went 7 innings, allowing 3 runs.
Snell was helped out by Alexis Diaz who recorded his 2nd save. Kodai
Senga(0-3) was charged with the loss. He served up 3 gopher balls in 6 and
1/3 innings.
Tony Calabrese was impressed with Snell and his 10 strikeouts. 'It's tough to
generate runs if you can't make contact with the ball.'
