Justin Steele had a strong outing as the Columbus Crowd defeated the Oakland
Athletics in 10 innings by the score of 5 to 4 at The Horseshoe.
The game was deadlocked at 3 after nine full innings. Finally, Columbus
pulled the game out in the 10th inning. Yandy Diaz was the sparkplug when he
drew a walk. Yelich proceeded to steal third base. Corbin Carroll then drew
a walk to load the bases. Alex Verdugo came up and he singled resulting in a
mighty exciting win for Columbus and the 45,033 home town fans in attendance.
The game was a wild affair with the lead changing hands 5 times.
The winning pitcher was Robert Stephenson(1-0) who allowed no runs in 1/3 of
an inning. The loss was charged to Jason Adam(0-1) in relief. He was unable
to retire a batter giving up 1 hit and 2 walks.
