Ross Stripling had a strong outing and left fielder Teoscar Hernandez had 4
hits and 7 RBI as the slumping Tampico Stogies were badly beaten by the very
potent Dyersville Jurassics, 16 to 2.
Hernandez enjoyed a big evening at the plate. He lined a base-hit which
scored a run in the 1st inning, doubled scoring a run in the 3rd inning,
doubled plating all three baserunners in the 7th inning and smashed a two-run
homer in the 8th inning. Dyersville lit up the scoreboard in the 7th inning
which saw them score 9 runs on 8 hits. Dyersville finished with 20 hits
while Tampico ended up with 5.
The victory was credited to Stripling(10-9) who went 7 innings, allowing 2
runs. The losing pitcher was Trevor Rogers(2-10). He allowed a few too many
baserunners giving up 9 hits and 4 walks in 3 and 1/3 innings.
'I felt great out there tonight' Hernandez said. 'I was seeing the ball
perfectly, and I was right on it with my swing.
