One run was the difference at Leones Field as the Caracas Leones defeated the
Dyersville Jurassics 3 to 2.
Caracas tallied 2 runs in the bottom of the 7th inning. Will Smith opened up
the inning nicely when he drew a walk. Luis Guillorme was next to bat, but
he was a strikeout victim. Trent Grisham was next to the plate, but was
promptly struck out. Matt Carpenter stepped in and he clubbed a two-run home
run. Neither team was able to score until the 6th inning.
Kyle Wright(11-6) got credit for the victory, pitching 8 innings and allowing
1 run. Liam Hendriks recorded his 14th save. Hector Neris(3-2) was the
losing pitcher in relief.
