In a good matchup it was the Palatine Cubs 12, the Columbus Crowd 9 at
Kauffman Stadium.
Palatine put a big number on the board in the 8th inning, which proved too
much for Columbus to overcome as they ripped Columbus for 7 runs on 6 hits.
The critical plate appearance was by Andrew McCutchen who excited the crowd
when he laced a one-base hit bringing home two baserunners. This was a game
of many highs and lows for the home town fans, as the lead kept changing - 6
times in all.
Paul Sewald(4-0) allowed no runs in 2 innings, and picked up the victory. Sean
Manaea(6-12) absorbed the loss in relief.
