Daulton Varsho blasted 2 homeruns and had 3 RBI and Zack Wheeler dominated
striking out 10 Dublin batters at Englefield Green where the seemingly
unstoppable Woodfield Roadkyll beat the Dublin Pubcrawlers 6 to 3.
The Woodfield fans enjoyed the offense provided by Varsho. He clubbed a
two-run home run in the 2nd inning and hit a bases-empty home run in the 6th
inning. Woodfield had 7 hits for the night.
The victory went to Wheeler(11-6) who went 7 innings, allowing 2 runs. Evan
Phillips recorded the save, his 2nd. Michael Wacha(8-4) absorbed the loss.
He served up 4 homeruns in his 8 innings.
Adam Smith was upset after the game. 'I don't like to complain but did you
see that umpires strike zone?', he said. 'Maybe they ought to start calling
the strike zone the way it's printed in the rule book.'
