In a two run game the Holland Heffalumps got by the Hollywood Marines by the
score of 4 to 2.
Holland scored 3 runs in the decisive 4th inning when they had 4 base hits.
The crucial at-bat was provided by Giancarlo Stanton who deflated the crowd
as he clubbed a two-run home run. Hollywood made it exciting in the 9th, but
they were unable to push the needed runs across.
The victory went to Clay Holmes(5-5) who went 1 and 2/3 innings, allowing no
runs. Connor Overton recorded his 2nd save. Sandy Alcantara(17-12) suffered
the loss. He surrendered 4 runs and 7 hits in 6 innings.
'We won because we did the little things right.' Steve Seydell said after the
game. 'This is why we practice things over and over and over, so when we get
in close games we don't make mistakes.'
