At Streator Park the red-hot Chicago Whales outdistanced the ice-cold Streator
Reds by a final score of 7 to 3.
Chicago brought 3 runs across the plate in the 4th inning when they came up
with 3 base hits. After an out was recorded, Matt Chapman started the attack
as he stroked a one-base hit. Jorge Soler was the next batter, but he struck
out. Yoan Moncada then tripled scoring a single run. Jose Abreu was up next
and he reached on an error plating one more runner. Lars Nootbaar stepped
into the box and doubled, and an error was also committed, scoring the final
run of the inning. Overall Chicago out-hit Streator 11 to 7.
The win was credited to Adam Wainwright(12-6) who went 8 innings allowing 3
runs. Patrick Corbin(5-16) suffered the loss. Chicago extended their winning
streak to 7 games. 'We're running on all cylinders now', said Rich Domovic.
'I probably shouldn't change a thing and let the guys continue to put up the
wins.'
