Paul Goldschmidt had 4 hits and 3 RBI as the Gotham Gold Gloves defeated the
Tampico Stogies by the score of 11 to 4 at Edsel Stadium.
Goldschmidt had a big evening at the plate. He doubled in the 2nd inning,
lashed a single in the 4th inning, doubled which scored a run in the 6th
inning and clubbed a two-run home run in the 8th inning. The Gotham offense
man-handled the Tampico pitching staff as they scored in 7 of the 9 innings.
Framber Valdez(8-6) went 8 innings allowing 4 runs for the win. Trevor
Rogers(1-5) absorbed the loss. 'After the stretch we have been through
lately, this victory is especially sweet' offered Mike Wilson. Now, we just
have to make this the norm - not the exception!'
