Third baseman Evan Longoria hit a homerun and had 4 RBI as the Oakland
Athletics topped the Hollywood Marines in 10 innings by a score of 8 to 7 at
Comerica Park.
Both teams were tied at 7 runs apiece after nine innings. Finally, Oakland
pulled the game out in the 10th inning. After an out was recorded, Longoria
doubled scoring the run. Hollywood had 12 hits in the game while Oakland had
7, but Oakland had the more timely hits.
Jordan Romano(4-5) was the winner allowing no runs in 1 and 1/3 innings.
Romano was helped out by Martin Perez who recorded his 1st save. Rafael
Montero(2-3) was charged with the loss in relief. He was a hard-luck loser
as he did not allow an earned run in his 1 and 1/3 innings of work.
Oakland now has a record of 69-56. With this loss, Hollywood has a 5-5 record
