In an great finish the Burbank Tigers won in dramatic fashion over the
Palatine Cubs by a score of 4 to 2 at Burbank Park.
Burbank came up with the deciding runs in the 9th inning with 3 runs. After
an out was recorded, Ben Gamel started the attack as he drew a walk. One out
later, Ryan Mountcastle came to the plate and drew a walk. Carson Kelly then
lost the ball over the fence for three runs giving Burbank the win and
sending the home town fans into a frenzy. Despite losing, Palatine out-hit
Burbank 9 to 6.
Austin Gomber(3-3) got the win allowing no runs in 2 and 2/3 innings. Robert
Suarez(3-1) was hit with the loss in relief. 'Wow, that was fun!', Gomber
said following the game. 'Once in a while you play a game that reminds you
just why you got into this business to begin with!'
