Aaron Judge had 5 hits and 3 RBI and Kyle Wright carried a no-hitter into the
6th inning as the Caracas Leones outscored the Jamaica Smoke 9 to 5.
The Jamaica fans didn't appreciate the big day Judge had. He doubled plating
a run in the 1st inning, doubled resulting in a run in the 2nd inning, ripped
a one-base hit in the 5th inning, hit a single in the 6th inning and lofted a
solo-blast 'downtown' in the 8th inning. Overall Caracas out-hit Jamaica 16
to 4.
Wright(10-6) went 6 innings allowing 1 run for the victory. The right-handed
Wright lost his chance for a no-hitter when Jose Siri tripled with nobody out
in the 6th inning. Mark Leiter recorded the save, his 5th. Kyle Gibson(6-6)
was the loser. He was hit hard and gave up 9 hits and 3 walks in 5 and 2/3
innings.
