In a good matchup it was the Woodfield Roadkyll 6, the Streator Reds 4 in 11
innings at Streator Park.
Both teams had scored 4 runs after nine full innings. Woodfield ended up
winning it in the 11th inning. Daulton Varsho jump-started the rally as he
drew a walk. Mark Canha came next and he lined a single to load the bases.
Bryan Abreu then uncorked a wild pitch which brought home a run. Rafael
Devers was next to bat, but he was a strikeout victim. Orlando Arcia came up
to bat and was walked intentionally to load the bases. Juan Soto did his
part to keep things going and drew a walk scoring the final run of the
inning. Streator had 11 hits in the game while Woodfield had 7, but
Woodfield had the more timely hits.
A.J. Minter(1-3) was the winner allowing no runs in 1 and 1/3 innings. Brad
Boxberger gained credit for his 2nd save. Abreu(2-3) was the loser in
relief. He surrendered 1 hit and 3 walks in 1/3 of an inning.
