The Streator Reds nipped the Palatine Cubs in 11 innings 3 to 2 at Kauffman
Stadium in a hard fought contest.
Both teams had scored 1 runs after nine full innings. Streator came out on
top in the 11th inning. After two outs Isaac Paredes opened up the rally as
he was walked intentionally. BrIan Anderson came next and he lined a single
scoring a run. Travis D'Arnaud then reached on an error. Jhoan Duran then
uncorked a wild pitch scoring the final run of the inning. Streator totaled
8 hits on the night.
Jordan Hicks(2-3) picked up the victory, allowing no runs in 1 inning. Scott
Barlow got the save, his 12th. Duran(2-3) was the loser in relief. He was a
hard-luck loser as he did not allow an earned run in his 2 innings of work.
The Streator ballclub's record now stands at 48-67. Palatine has a record of
59-56 after the loss.
