The Dallas Gibsons and the Streator Reds locked up in an exciting one-run game
at Streator Park. The final score was the Dallas Gibsons 3, the Streator
Reds 2.
The deciding run was scored by Dallas in the 8th. Tommy Edman drew a walk.
After an out was recorded, Alex Bregman came to bat and doubled scoring the
run. Streator had a chance in the 9th but they came up short.
The win was credited to Domingo Acevedo(4-1) who went 2 and 1/3 innings
allowing no runs. Acevedo got help from Sam Hentges who earned his 8th save.
Bryan Abreu(1-1) was the losing pitcher in relief. His ERA ballooned from
3.68 to 3.94 as he allowed 1 run in 1/3 of an inning.
'You have to give Streator credit, they fought us tough to the end' Steve
Felson said. 'It could have gone either way, but I'm glad we pulled out the
victory.'
