33,928 fans watched an exciting game at Jurassic Park. The Vernon Hillbillies
topped the Dyersville Jurassics by the slimmest of margins, 5 to 4.
Vernon took the lead off Ross Stripling in the first inning scoring 3 runs on
3 base hits. Austin Hays started the inning off right when he slapped a
one-base hit. Justin Turner next to the plate and he reached on an error.
Freddie Freeman then lofted a three-run 'big-fly'. The Dyersville bats were
silent in the bottom of the 9th.
The win went to Freddy Peralta(3-7) who allowed 2 runs in 5 and 1/3 innings.
Peralta was helped out by Emmanuel Clase who recorded his 14th save. The
loss was charged to Stripling(8-5). He gave up just 3 runs and 4 hits in 6
innings.
