Patrick Sandoval reeled off a total of 10 strikeouts and first baseman Paul
Goldschmidt blasted 2 homeruns and had 4 RBI as the Gotham Gold Gloves bested
the Chicago Whales 11 to 3 at West Side Park.
Goldschmidt had a big day against Chicago. He lifted one out of the park for
a two run home run in the 3rd inning, lofted a solo-blast 'downtown' in the
5th inning and laced a one-base hit in the 7th inning. Overall Gotham
out-hit Chicago 10 to 2.
Sandoval(6-5) was the winner allowing 3 runs in 7 innings. The loss was
charged to Luis Cessa(6-2). He allowed 5 homeruns in 4 and 1/3 innings of
work.
'He was really impressive tonight,' Cessa said of his counterpart. 'Our guys
were just swinging at air.'
