Jose Leclerc(1-1) was the winner as Tombstone Huckleberries shutout the
Burbank Tigers in 10 innings by a 1 to 0 score at The O.K. Corral.
No runners had crossed home plate after the regulation nine. Tombstone won
the hard fought contest in the 10th inning. After an out was recorded,
Cedric Mullins banged out a single. Yordan Alvarez was the next batter, but
he struck out. Mullins took his lead and swiped second. Eric Haase was up
next and he lashed a single resulting in an exciting win for Tombstone and a
wild post-game celebration by the home town fans. Tombstone ended up with 9
hits for the game while Burbank had 5.
Austin Gomber(0-2) was the loser in relief. He was pinned with the loss
despite not allowing an earned run in his 2 and 2/3 innings of work.
The win by Tombstone is a very welcome one as they have been struggling in
recent days. Their record now stands at 46-48 - only 2-8 in their last ten
games. With the loss Burbank now has a record of 38-56.
