Sandy Alcantara had a strong outing and catcher Sean Murphy had 4 hits and 5
RBI at Comerica Park where the Hollywood Marines beat the Burbank Tigers 6 to
5.
It was a good day for Hollywood thanks to Murphy. He doubled in the 1st
inning, doubled scoring two baserunners in the 3rd inning, popped a two-run
clout over the fence in the 5th inning and stroked a single which scored a
run in the 7th inning. Hollywood had a total of 10 hits for the game.
Alcantara(13-7) picked up the victory, allowing 1 run in 7 innings. Alcantara
got help from Rafael Montero who was credited with his 15th save. Daniel
Lynch(0-1) suffered the loss. Although losing the contest, he whiffed 10
batters in 6 and 2/3 innings.
'I've spent a lot of time in the cage and made some adjustments and they've
paid off,' Murphy said. 'I just take the same approach up there. I don't
overanalyze it. I go up there, see the ball and try to put a good swing on
it.'
