In a thriling finish the Holland Heffalumps pulled off the win over the
Palatine Cubs by a score of 8 to 6 at The Heffadrome.
Holland had the winning rally in the 9th inning scoring 2 runs. Mookie Betts
led off and got things going when he drew a walk. After an out was recorded,
Martin Maldonado stepped up to the plate and he drew a walk. Francisco
Lindor then popped a two-run clout over the fence resulting in an exciting
win for Holland and a wild post-game celebration by the home town fans.
Despite losing, Palatine out-hit Holland 11 to 7.
Jimmy Herget(6-0) picked up the victory, allowing no runs in 2/3 of an inning.
Carl Edwards Jr(2-4) was hit with the loss in relief. He surrendered 1 hit
and 2 walks in 1 and 1/3 innings.
