Designated hitter Bryce Harper slammed 2 homeruns and had 3 RBI as the Caracas
Leones defeated the Oakland Athletics 10 to 2 at RingCentral
Coliseum.
Harper was a source of great heartache for the Oakland faithful all evening.
He just kept pounding out hits! He popped a two-run clout over the fence in
the 1st inning, doubled in the 3rd inning, doubled in the 7th inning and
cracked a solo homerun in the 8th inning. Overall Caracas out-hit Oakland 15
to 7.
The win was credited to Sonny Gray(4-3) who went 5 innings allowing 1 run.
Mitch White was credited with his 3rd save. The loss was charged to Martin
Perez(4-4). He got hit hard, allowing 10 hits and 4 walks in 6 innings.
'I felt great out there tonight,' Harper said, 'Maybe I should make a regular
habit of getting to bed on time!'
