separated the combatants at game's end. The Tombstone Huckleberries won by
the slimmest of margins, 7 to 6.
Reid Detmers(7-2) gave a fine effort for Tombstone. He surrendered 6 hits and
1 walk in 7 innings. Columbus tried unsuccessfully to come back in the 9th.
David Bednar got the save, his 2nd. Clayton Kershaw(4-4) took the loss. He
was not very effective, surrendering 5 runs in 4 and 1/3 innings.
'You have to give Columbus credit, they fought us tough to the end' Doug
Salzwedel said. 'It could have gone either way, but I'm glad we pulled out
the victory.'
