At Aarlington Field, the Aarlington faithful were treated to an intriguing
pitcher's duel. Logan Webb(6-1) finally bested his Aarlington counterpart,
Eric Lauer(1-6), by the score of 3 to 0.
Holland started with a bang, jumping out to an early lead in their half of the
first with 2 runs utilizing 2 base hits. Thairo Estrada led off and started
the attack as he was hit by a pitch. Randy Arozarena stepped up to the plate
and he slapped a base-hit. After an out was recorded, Lauer then uncorked a
wild one that found its way to the backstop knocking in a run. Mitch Haniger
dug into the batters box next, but he struck out. Garrett Cooper came to the
plate and doubled scoring the final run of the inning. That scoring would be
all that was needed. Erik Swanson pitched a perfect ninth and was credited
with his 4th save.
Lauer suffered the loss. Despite taking the loss, he whiffed 6 batters in 3
and 2/3 innings.
