The Columbus Crowd and the Burbank Tigers locked up in an exciting one-run
game at The Horseshoe. The final score was the Columbus Crowd 6, the Burbank
Tigers 5.
Burbank was unable to recover after Columbus went ahead in the 5th inning when
they came up with 3 runs on 3 hits. The critical plate appearance was by
Yandy Diaz who thrilled the crowd when he clubbed a three-run home run.
Burbank made it exciting in the 9th, but they were unable to push the needed
runs across.
Edward Cabrera(4-1) got the win allowing no runs in 6 innings. Steve Cishek
was credited with his 1st save. Walker Buehler(1-3) was hit with the loss.
Wes Davies was in a contemplative mood after the tough loss, 'It is really
hard to lose this kind of a game. It may seem weird to some, but it is
easier to take the occasional blow-out loss. It is the ones that just barely
get away that hurt so much - like this one!'
