WEB GEMS- Bot 2nd: Tyrone Taylor robbed Alek Thomas of a Homerun!
Designated hitter Eloy Jimenez lofted one into the 'cheap seats' and had 3 RBI
as the Columbus Crowd staged a dramatic comeback over the Burbank Tigers by a
score of 7 to 6 at The Horseshoe.
Columbus had the winning rally in the 9th inning scoring 3 runs using 2 hits.
After an out was recorded, Christian Yelich kicked off the action when he
drew a walk. Alex Verdugo followed next and he laced a one-base hit.
Jimenez then rifled a three-run blast giving Columbus the victory and sending
the 45,126 home-town fans home happy. Columbus had 11 hits for the night.
Devin Williams(1-2) went 2/3 of an inning allowing no runs for the win. Josh
Hader(1-2) suffered the loss in relief. 'What a win!', Williams said.
'These are the kind of games that stand out in your mind at the end of a
season.'
