Lance Lynn struck out 13 batters and second baseman Luis Arraez had 4 hits and
2 RBI as the Jamaica Smoke bested the Gotham Gold Gloves 9 to 0 at Edsel
Stadium.
Lynn(3-1) was in control of the game from the outset. He was stingy on the
mound, allowing just 6 hits and 1 walk in 8 innings seeing his ERA drop from
3.92 to 2.83. Jamaica finished with 14 hits while Gotham ended up with 6.
The loss was charged to Spenser Watkins(0-4). He was knocked around,
surrendering 8 runs in 4 and 2/3 innings. 'He was really impressive
tonight,' Watkins said of his counterpart. 'Our guys were just swinging at
air.'
