Lance Lynn racked up an impressive total of 10 strikeouts at Lawton Stadium
where the Jamaica Smoke beat the Burbank Tigers by the score of 11 to 3.
The home town fans were very appreciative of the fine hitting performance
provided by Corey Seager. He banged out a single resulting in a run in the
3rd inning, hit a bases-empty home run in the 7th inning and singled which
was good for two runs in the 8th inning. Burbank was out-hit by Jamaica, 14
hits to 9.
The win was credited to Lynn(2-1) who went 8 innings allowing 3 runs. Walker
Buehler(1-1) was the loser. The Jamaica fans were thrilled by the
performance put forth by Lynn, but it was clearly his strikeouts that they
enjoyed most. 'When he reached 10 strikeouts the fans showed him their
appreciation with a loud cheer.' Greg Edens said following the game.
