In a close game the Holland Heffalumps got by the Caracas Leones by the score
of 5 to 3.
Holland had the game winning rally in the 9th inning plating 2 runs using 2
hits. After an out was recorded, Mookie Betts started the attack as he
cracked a solo homerun. David Bote was a strikeout victim, unable to help
out. Martin Maldonado then lofted a solo-blast 'downtown'. Holland had 7
hits for the night.
Jose Alvarado(1-1) got credit for the victory, pitching 2 innings and allowing
no runs. Penn Murfee(0-1) was the losing pitcher in relief. He surrendered 2
hits and no walks in 1 and 1/3 innings.
Wth the win Holland now has a record of 16-13. Caracas, which had been on a
