42,869 fans watched an exciting game at Poets Field. The Oakland Athletics
topped the Dublin Pubcrawlers by the slimmest of margins, 4 to 3.
Oakland scored 3 runs in the decisive 4th inning when they had 4 base hits.
The key at-bat was by J.P. Crawford who helped quiet the crowd when he
stroked a base-hit bringing in two baserunners. Dublin made it exciting in
the 9th, but they were unable to push the needed runs across.
Jameson Taillon(3-3) picked up the victory, allowing 2 runs in 6 and 1/3
innings. Jason Adam earned the save, his 3rd. Rich Hill(3-1) was charged
with the loss.
Adam Smith was clearly disappointed after the game. 'It was a manager's
nightmare out there', he said, 'We should have had this one.'
