Third baseman Rafael Devers had 2 base hits as the Woodfield Roadkyll came
back to win one over Oakland Athletics, 4 to 2.
Woodfield had the game winning rally in the top of the 9th inning as they
scored 4 runs on 3 base hits. The biggest moment was provided by Ha-Seong
Kim who silenced the stadium when he doubled bringing home two baserunners.
Edwin Diaz relieved and was untouched by Oakland as he recorded the save, his
6th.
Matt Strahm(1-0) went 3 innings allowing no runs for the win. Jason Adam(0-1)
was the loser in relief. He gave up 2 runs and 1 hit without retiring a
batter.
Mike Gahalla was feeling mighty fine as he answered questions in his office
after the game, 'Now that was one fine ending! Did you see how the crowd just
sat there in silence after the winning run scored? Here we are celebrating
wildly, and the stadium is cloaked in virtual silence. Weird. but GREAT!'
