Christopher Morel cracked 2 homeruns as the Streator Reds staged a dramatic
comeback over the Jamaica Smoke by a score of 8 to 6 at Lawton
Stadium.
Streator had the game winning rally in the 9th inning when they scored 4 runs
on 4 hits. The key offensive moment was provided by Isaac Paredes who
disappointed the partisan crowd when he belted a three-run homer. Streator
and Jamaica each finished the night with 11 hits.
Ryne Stanek(2-1) went 1 and 2/3 innings allowing 1 run for the victory. Scott
Barlow was credited with his 3rd save. Taylor Hearn(0-2) took the loss in
relief. By giving up 3 runs without retiring a batter his ERA increased from
4.05 to 8.10.
Greg Edens was not very talkative after his team's tough loss. 'I'm not in
the mood for questions, but I'm sure Ralph Madara will be glad to talk about
the game as long as you have questions to ask.'
