First baseman Keston Hiura lofted one into the 'cheap seats' and had 5 RBI and
Michael Kopech whiffed 10 batters as the Aarlington Aardvarks beat the
Tombstone Huckleberries by a score of 14 to 6.
Hiura had a big evening at the plate. He lost the ball over the fence for
three runs in the 3rd inning, doubled in the 7th inning and singled scoring
two baserunners in the 8th inning. Even though they scored in 5 different
innings, Tombstone was not able to pull off the win.
Kopech(1-1) allowed 3 runs in 6 and 1/3 innings, and picked up the victory.
Drew Rasmussen(0-1) suffered the loss. He served up 3 homeruns in his 6 and
2/3 innings.
Kopech was pleased with his performance. He noted, 'I had good zip on my
pitches. Just as important, my location was right on. The fans really got
into the game too - that always helps me. Now, if I can only do that again
in my next outing.'
