Joey Meneses knocked 2 homeruns and had 3 RBI and Rich Hill retired 11 batters
on strikeouts as the Dublin Pubcrawlers destroyed the Gotham Gold Gloves by a
score of 12 to 0 at Edsel Stadium.
Meneses provided the offensive punch. He hit a bases-empty home run in the
1st inning, cracked a two-run shot in the 7th inning and slapped a one-base
hit in the 9th inning. Dublin had many opportunities throughout the game and
scored in 6 separate innings.
Hill(2-0) went 7 innings allowing no runs for the victory. Michael
Lorenzen(0-2) was the losing pitcher. He allowed 3 homeruns in 6 and 1/3
innings of work.
Hill, when asked about his 11 strikeout performance noted, 'The important
thing is that we won, if I get 20 and we lose, what good does it do our team?
But, on the other hand, since we won it feels great!'
